Ben has lived in Lymington all his life.

After sailing Optimists at the Salterns, Ben started racing at age 13 and attended his first National Optimist Championship at age 15. From there he progressed to the RYA Youth Squad.

Since he was 16 years old, Ben has become a sailing coach, a dedicated Laser Radial sailor, raced in four World and four European Championships. This culminated in winning the Laser Radial World Championship in Holland in July 2007 against 121competitors from 23 nations.

Ben is going to team up with Jonny Clegg (aged 23), an experienced local 49er crew who was 3rd in the 49er National Championships at Llandudno in August 2007.

Ben is looking for sponsorship of his Olympic campaign. The first step being to find funding to buy a 49er and to pay for the travel costs to attend training events and open meetings with a view to doing well enough to be part of the RYA Skandia Team GBR.
