LTSC members own and/or sail a wide range of dinghies (over 50 different classes) which are used for cruising, training and racing. Members who wish to use their dinghies at Lymington can apply for a space in the LTSC Dinghy Park

If you are thinking of changing class, there can be advantages in sailing a class used by other members, particularly if you are interested in racing. The following classes have a Class promoter at LTSC who will be pleased to assist you.

Dinghy cruises are available to a wide variety of locations.

Saturday Sailing provides opportunity for developing sailing skills and gaining an introduction to racing

LTSC club handicap racing is organised for Wednesday evenings and Sundays.

Members also participate in the RLymYC races on Monday evenings.
 

This is the largest fleet at LTSC with more than 40 boats. Many race on Wednesday evenings and on Sundays.

Length 4.83m Sail area 13.15sq.m Spin 13.5sq.m Popular with sailing schools because of its roominess and sturdy construction.

Can be raced with 2 or 3 and because of its popularity has its own start on Wednesday evenings. Also forms the majority of the dinghy cruising fleet.

There are three different sail rigs available on the same hull - Standard -Radial - 4.7

Length 4.22m Sail area 7/5.4/4.7 sq.m Ubiquitous single hander-different size rigs allow teenagers and ladies to compete on handicap with budding Ben Ainslie's. The Class also organises national and International events for Masters

Length 4.68m Sail area 12.8sq.m Asymmetric 16 sq.m Ultimate single hander with trapeze/racks/asymmetric kite. LTSC has a competitive fleet with several world and national champions to compete against.

RS 700 Class Association website

Length 4.8m Sail area 16.5sq.m Asymmetric 21sq.m two man/woman trapeze asymmetric. Adjustable racks are used to equalize performance between different size crews.

Length 3.3m Sail area 6.4 sq.m Spin. 6 sq.m Versatile plywood dinghy-sail/row/outboard. Raced with 1or2 people either una rigged or with jib or plus spinnaker. Excellent boat for family with small children and easily car topable.

Length 4.2 m, beam 1.63 m, mast 6.26 m bare hull weight 80 kg min. Sailing weight 100 kg min. Sails area main 10.25 sq m, jib 2.8 sq m, spinnaker 9 sq m.

Double handed dinghy with trapeze for crew  Excellent boat for young people. International Youth boat. The ideal competitive combined crew weight is 17 to 23 stone (110-145Kg).
