Slipway

2010_slipwayThe public slipway is easily accessible from the club dinghy park. The slipway is managed by LHC. Please respect all slipway users.

Dinghies can launch and recover at all states of the tide.

Larger craft requiring vehicle assistance to lauch and recover would be wise to to pay attention to the tide times as once water leaves the end of the concreate ramp it can be a wet and muddy experience to get the a larger craft floated on or off  a trailer.

LHC Launch disk

All boats launching are responsible for paying the appropriate Harbour Master fees. All boats stored in the dinghy park are required to have a current LHC launch disc.

Slipway Hazards

Boats must not be prepared on the slipway, the launch area outlined in red on picture above, as this can cause congestion and can hold up an RNLI launch.
Launch trolleys must be cleared from the slipway area as soon as possible. The area marked in green on the picture above shows the designated area for trolleys. Alternatively trolleys can be put on the club lawn.

Slipway can be slippery - be warned.
Vehicle launched boats must have a ‘lookout’ posted to ensure that the area behind the reversing trailer is clear.
Boats being recovered using vehicles must ensure that the trailer is secure on the ballhitch before going up the ramp to the car park.
