The
Charity Pursuit race was sailed in 18 - 20 knots of easterly wind.
Eight of
the 34 yachts that entered and made donations came to the start line and
enjoyed excellent sailing conditions with occasional sunshine and no
sign of rain!

The first
start was at 1000hrs
Rosenn (above) led the fleet away.
After rounding "Yachthaven" she headed out into the flood tide for a
quick route to Solent Bank but failed to go through the gate at the end
of the first lap. Still racing at the 1200hrs finish she was scored in
last position. |

Contessa
Catherine (above) sailed a great race moving from third to second at the
end of lap one and to first just after the end of lap two but the pack
was closing fast and she was overtaken in the final minutes by Boomerang

Fly Orchid
was second boat to start and with Rosenn missing out the gate at end of
lap one Fly Orchid moved into the lead which she held for the whole of
lap two. In the final ten minutes the pack started to overtake and Fly
Orchid was fourth. |
