Answering the plea in Mainsheet, members Hazel
Gibbs and Mike Wilson were appointed to look after our considerable
collection of books in the Committee Room. These are arranged on
labelled shelves under specific subjects, such as Almanacs and Pilots,
Seamanship, Racing Building and Maintenance etc., plus several rows
of Fiction.
All
members are most welcome to borrow from the library, without charge,
provided they record details in the loan-book, prominently displayed,
and return books within one month.
A few vital reference books such
as the current MacMillans Nautical Almanac and the most popular pilots
are clearly labelled - Please Do Not Remove - and must only be used
in the Solent Room.
Please return books promptly to the shelf marked
"Return" in case someone else is waiting for that item.
Up-to-date
editions of existing books, especially pilots and technical publications,
would be most welcome.
