July proved to be a very sad month for many of us with the loss of a good friend. Iain and his wife Sue had been active members of LTSC for over a quarter of a century and Iain had shown himself to be a great competitor in both our Club Dinghy Racing and more recently cruising, racing his keel boat Scrumpy Jack.
He became involved in many Club activities, organising social events such as the Wayfarer 'Winghy' dinner’s, Summer Balls and managing the prestigious Solent Circuit Autumn series for a number of years. Iain had a wicked sense of humour and his quick wit and precision like analysis of all scenarios will make him sadly missed.
A celebration of his life was held at the Club for him on Friday July 24th and not surprising Iain made his presence felt by requesting that no black should be worn and that gentlemen wore pink and the ladies pretty frocks. In keeping with his desire we dressed the Club overall.
