The Burns Supper

2010_robbieburnsThe Burns Supper celebrates the life and loves of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns. Scottish formal dress or black tie are worn. This is done in true traditional style with a piper, Scottish songs, a themed supper following the address to the haggis and the expected speech to the lassies with a feisty response. Of course a choice of whiskies is available from the bar. This year's event is on Friday 20th January 2012.

The Sprat Supper

2010_spratsA fun event where ocean fresh sprats are consumed amongst a great deal of jollity as well as a charity raffle to raise funds for the RNLI and a Fisherman’s cause. This year's event: 10th February 2012 >>

St. George’s Day

2010_stgeorgesdayflagSt. George’s Day is celebrated partly in response to Burns Night as well as to give due consideration to the fine people of England. The traditional roast beef dinner, good wines and port are followed by rousing singing guaranteed to lift the roof. This is always a black tie dinner. The entertainment has varied from Morris Dancing to a court Jester and a good time is always had by all. This year's event is celebrated at the Cruising Supper on Friday 20th April 2012.

Summer Ball

2009_summerballUsually an elegant occasion enhanced by a long, light evening when the views from the Solent Room are breathtaking. Members and their guest make the most of using the whole of the club for this experience with early evening drinks on the lawns and the lower deck bar being transformed into a night club atmosphere. This year's Summer Ball will take place on Saturday 21st July 2012.

Cowes Fireworks

2009cowesfireworksCowes Fireworks. This spectacular night time entertainment is better viewed from the safety of a fairly large craft with an experienced skipper. Such a boat is hired for the Cowes Week spectacle; it has a well stocked bar and serves a freshly cooked chicken in the basket supper. This is one not to miss! This year's event will take place on Friday 17th August 2012.

Annual Bath Race

2009bathraceThis summer event has a carnival atmosphere and contestants make a standard bath into a sea-worthy, racing craft to take part in the paddle driven heats on the water just behind the club pontoon. Adults and children alike in fancy dress or otherwise have a wonderful time competing for the much wanted Bath Trophy as well as a vast array of other prizes. People are attracted by the racing as well as the BBQ and other stalls. This year's event will be held on Sunday 5th August 2012.

Trafalgar Night

2010_nelsonEach year the life and historic victories of Admiral Horatio Nelson are celebrated. A fine dinner is served to guests in formal dress and wearing their medals. A very popular evening is lifted by the singing of Rule Britannia and other national songs. The entertainment is different from year to year but is always outstanding. This year's Trafalgar Dinner will be held on Friday 19th October 2012.

Consuelo's Draw & Mulled Wine

2011_mulledwineAn annual event, run by Consuelo. The idea is to buy squares - and squares mean prizes! (but only if you are lucky). All the proceeds are spent on prizes, so the more we spend, the better the haul! The draw takes place in the Solent Room, whilst enjoying the hospitality of the club with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie or two! Why not make an evening of it, and book a table for a meal afterwards? This year's event will be held on Friday 14th December 2012.

Needles Relief

2010_needlesreliefBefore the light house at the Needles was automated small boats went out before Christmas each year to take seasonal fayre to the keepers. The tradition is kept alive by a flotilla of boats from LTSC and the Royal Lymington Yacht Club going over to the Isle of Wight to watch a magnificent display by the RNLI boat and helicopter rescue service. After this everyone repairs to the Kings Head pub for refreshment and to sing carols and then to head home before darkness falls. This year's event will take place on Saturday 15th December 2012.

New Year Party

2009_balloonsAs the old year fades the New Year's Eve Party at the club is guaranteed to welcome in the New Year in style. This most popular and successful of events takes place in a beautifully decorated Solent Room with good music and a special dinner menu.
