Black Rock Race - "Tig" takes it, but not without a struggle

On Monday 5th April, 7 dinghies came to the Baverstock starting line. The conditions made racing exhilarating with winds of 20 knots + and gusting 25 - 26. The Race Officer Richard Lilley set a course of Pennington, Black Rock, Jack in the Basket, finish.
With Tig Williams in his RS 600 and Sandy Reid-Peters in a his Wanderer upside down prior to the start, the remainder of the fleet including the lasers of Declan Clamp & Steve Goacher were on their way. After diving down to Pennington it was off to the Black Rock. Tig in his RS 600 was chasing hard, eventually catching the fleet. David Gautier was in contention at this stage until losing his rudder. Tig was also upside down again prior to finishing with lots of water in his boat. Becci Wigley in her Blaze finished next with Richard Russell in his RS Vareo Following. Next came the Lasers. Most of the competitors, if not all, spent some time in the water but thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Rush’.
