Yacht cruising at LTSC
We organise a wide scope of activities throughout the year, on and off the water. The main goal is to ensure there is something for everybody in a broad range of;
-
Age and family mix
-
Capability
-
Size of boat
-
Duration and distance of trips
-
Availability of time
-
Social interests
To provide this scope, our activities include;
- Wednesday Meandering - Usually to a destination within 10 miles of Lymington, with a stop for lunch
- Saturday Sauntering - Saturday day sailing stopping somewhere for a decent lunch
-
Cruising Programme - Which includes weekend sailing - where Saturday night is enjoyed either at anchor or in a marina somewhere between Portsmouth and Poole - and mini cruises - 3-4 days venturing further away and sometimes crossing the channel.
-
Summer Cruise - Our flagship event. In early June we set sail for at least 2 weeks away with a combination of sailing and rest days along the way.
Our cruising activities are open to motor boats, who are welcome on all of the cruising sections trips and activities.
Ashore, we hold monthly Cruising Suppers from September through to April. After the meal, we enjoy a variety of entertainment, talks, and debates. The main objective is social interaction and chit chat. All club members are welcome, and we always try to ensure that new joiners are made to feel at home.
Please take a look at some of our Event Reports to give a flavour of what the cruising section is about.
If you are a skipper seeking crew (or vice versa) please visit the Come cruising with us page.
All cruising activities are the responsibility of the Cruising Captain who is a member of the Sailing Committee. The present members of the cruising sub-committee are:-
