Dinghy sailing @ LTSC

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Lymington is a great location for dinghy sailing. The combination of the river and the slipway gives sheltered launching at all states of the tide, and our location in the Western Solent provides for exciting racing and interesting destinations.

You can potter in the river, explore the salt marshes with its lakes and interconnecting waterways or there are plenty of bays, beaches and harbours in range of the more experienced day sailor.

Dinghy racing

An enthusiastic dinghy racing section enjoys friendly competition all year round. Our club events take place on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the popular Saturday sailing providing an opportunity to learn to race or sharpen skills. The Club has a proud history of hosting open events - these range from long distance races to open meetings. We endeavour to publish event reports and results on the website as quickly as possible, and sailors can also access the appropriate notices and documents that define the rules, handicap systems and other detail required for running the racing.

Details of each race are published on the dinghy racing calendar - and each event entry contains links to the appropriate Notice Of Race, and reports and results.

Dinghy cruising

Throughout the summer dinghy cruising is organised by the club,  normally one per month. These family events are great fun,  passage sailing in dinghies  with rescue boat cover.

Dinghy resources

The Club has many great resources for dinghy sailors - Including a dinghy park available to members to store their boats and the slipway for launching. Useful information about these resources is contained within the Dinghy Resources section
