DANGEROUS GIRLS
Dangerous Girls is a community that empowers women to take to the water, developing sailing skills and building confidence in their ability.
How It Started
The Dangerous Girls training group started during the pandemic, when restrictions meant sailors could only go out with members of their own household. Many female sailors who had previously crewed for others suddenly found themselves needing to helm single-handed dinghies.
What began as a practical solution quickly became something much bigger. Many graduates are now making waves on the race course and giving back by supporting others on their sailing journey.
When & How It Runs
The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from April to the end of September. Start time is 17:45. Please arrive rigged and ready for the pre-launch briefing.
Sailors can take part in both single-handed and double-handed dinghies, with sessions focused on skill development and confidence building.
A Self-Governed Community
Dangerous Girls is a self-governed group. If you would like to:
• Volunteer on RIBs
• Offer coaching
• Support the group in any way
we would love to hear from you.
Club Dinghy Hire
