YACHT CHARTER
The Charter
Would you like to sail with friends on a 40’ yacht? A yacht charter for Club members in September...
The Club is chartering a Beneteau First 40 ‘Rocket Dog II’, skippered by the owner Richard Domoney for five days in September (21st - 25th), sailing from Lymington Yacht Haven. There will be six crew per day.
Members can choose to sail any day, but we have arranged to support different groups each day.

Wednesday will be open to those new to sailing.

Thursday is allocated "Sail with Tom" an opportunity to spend the day sailing with our Water Sports Operations Manager & Chief Instructor.

Friday is open to more experienced sailors.

Saturday/Sunday will be a weekend rally to Portsmouth open to all who would like to experience longer sailing and an overnight stay on board.

Notes/details for the event:-

For young people, 16 –18-year-olds are accepted on a trip when sailing with a parent or guardian. Those under 16 will not be able to sail on the charter.

Think about what you would like to get out of the day. Some ideas are on the form here to pick one or two items for discussion with the skipper.

Full safety brief and instructions will be given; lifejackets provided. Gate codes, yacht berth number and car parking places will be advised, together with suggestions on clothing. Bring your own lunch; coffee and tea provided. Next of Kin and contact numbers will be required.

Timings of charter each day: 0830 to 1700 approximately.

Start is from Lymington Yacht Haven, day sailing around the Solent area and west through the Needles channel, with up to six crew members for Wednesday to Friday.

For Saturday and Sunday, crew will be joining an LTSC/KYC rally to Portsmouth Gosport with some 12 yachts expected. Crew will be staying overnight on the yacht, sharing cabins.

Booking
Booking is a 2 part process:-

1. Complete the booking form here. It will ask you for your experience and a couple of possible dates.
2. The full daily rate is £85 for all crew members, to be paid on booking. For the weekend rally (Saturday morning departure and return Sunday afternoon) the cost will be £170 for the berth, plus a contribution to food on board. In addition, crew members will be able to join the other yacht crews and dine together on Saturday night in the Combined Forces YC in Gosport (£20-25pp approx.)
If poor weather prevents a day sailing, money will be refunded, normally by putting it back on your club card. The payment is under 'Sailing Bookings' in the Members Area.
INSURANCE
a) All vessels are insured against accidents and third-party liability.
b) Responsibility is not accepted for personal accidents or damage or loss attributable to any client’s negligence, recklessness or gross misconduct. The charter company SCMB reserves the right to hold any client liable for any or all damage or loss resulting from negligence or misconduct.
c) Richard's charter company (South Coast Miles Builders) strongly advises that the clients obtain their own insurance.
